Davison, Michigan Campgrounds

Davison is situated in the eastern suburbs of the city of Flint and in the middle of the eastern part of Michigan that is often referred to as the thumb. The Davison area has state parks and numerous lakes that often have campgrounds along their banks. Fishing, boating and hiking are popular pursuits with campers around Davison.
  1. Lake Shore Resort

    • The Lake Shore Resort in Davison is a large resort with 398 full hook-up RV sites. Part of a time-sharing resort, the campground features a private lake for fishing, boating and swimming. On-site amenities include restrooms, showers, a laundry facility, a playground for children, a picnic area with grills, hiking trails, a fire pit and a cafe that serves breakfast and lunch. A cocktail lounge, clubhouse and pavilion are also part of a property with a game room, two pools, a sauna and a fitness room. Live entertainment and planned activities are regularly held. Campers can also elect to stay in cabins. Additional recreational activities include tennis, basketball, horseshoes, shuffleboard and volleyball. Ice skating is allowed on the lake during the winter.

    Wolverine Campground

    • Owned and operated by the county of Genesee, the Wolverine Campground is approximately a 10-minute ride to the north of Davison. The campground has nearly 200 sites that are in shaded areas and along the Holloway Reservoir. Sewer and water hook-ups are not available, but some sites do have electric connections up to 50 amps. Some of the campsites also offer views of the reservoir. Pets are allowed as well as tent camping. Stays at the lakefront campsites require at least a three-night stay, while the limit to stay at the same camping site is limited to two weeks. Alcohol is prohibited from the campground. The campground is open from late May until early September.

    Genesee Otter Lake Campground

    • The Genesee Otter Lake Campground, roughly 10 miles to the north of Davison, has 130 camping sites and features the 30-acre Otter Lake that is stocked with fish. The camping sites can handle any size RVs and come with water and electric connections. Some sites are also primitive with no hook-ups, while others are located along the lake. The campground has a store with a snack counter and sells items such as ice cream and live bait. A propane filling station, laundry facilities, restrooms, showers, a playground, an arcade room and various hiking trails are on the property. Organized activities such as hayrides are also held. Campers can rent boats and and play the campground's putt-putt golf course.
