Charles Mears State Park is found along Lake Michigan, near the Oceana County Historical Park Museums, AJ's Family Fun Center and the Little Sable Point Lighthouse. The park has 175 sites for RV and tent camping. Many of the RV sites have water, electrical and sewer connections. The campground also rents out cottages and cabins with accommodations for between four and six people. At the park, people can go fishing, boating, bike riding, hiking and swimming. The facility has planned activities during the summer, such as sandcastle contests, fireworks and art fairs. Amenities at the campground include beach access, a boat launch, a boat-rental service, a dock, a store with snacks, a playground, a pavilion, drinking fountains, a beach house with bathrooms, an archery area and nature trails.

Hill and Hollow Campground is located in the woods of Pentwater, near Pentwater Lake, Lake Michigan, the Silver Lake Sand Dunes and the Driftwood Golf Course. The campground features 200 sites for RV and tent camping. Most RV sites have water and electrical connections, and some also have a sewer hookup. Tent and RV sites come with a fire pit and picnic table. At the campground, people can go swimming in one of two outdoor swimming pools, eat at a cafe, play basketball or volleyball on one of the facility's courts, try horseshoes in a horseshoe pit, play a game of baseball or softball on the campground's playing field or tan on one of the resort's sundecks. Other amenities at the campground include wireless Internet access, a store with supplies and groceries, a game room, pay phones, a library, a fish-cleaning station and bathrooms with showers. The campground also features planned activities, such as fireworks, yard sales, live musical acts, crafts fairs, ghost stories and parades.

The campground features its own private lake, where people can go swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating and fishing. It also has a boating dock on Bass Lake. Other amenities at the campground include a playground; a clubhouse with planned activities; a canoe, kayak and paddleboat-rental service; a store with food and supplies; bathrooms with showers; and a rentable pavilion area.
