KOA Campgrounds in Michigan

KOA has campgrounds scattered throughout Michigan. Several popular destination cities possess a nearby KOA, making your vacation more convenient. Though most of the KOA campgrounds in Michigan are located in the lower peninsula of Michigan, a few are located in the upper peninsula. Most Michigan KOAs offer cabins along with tent and RV sites.
  1. St. Ignace/Mackinac Island KOA

    • Located conveniently near both St. Ignace and Mackinac Island, this KOA is an ideal campground for those wanting to visit charming Mackinac Island. The campground offers several amenities, including a free ride to the island-bound ferry, free wireless Internet, 120-foot pull-throughs, 50-amp service, cable TV, a seasonal pool and mini-golf.

      The campground has RV and tent sites, along with one- or two-room cabins. This KOA is wooded and secluded, with rustic tent sites available. Its close location to the Great Lakes also offers superb fishing, hiking and beach-going activities.

    Traverse City KOA

    • Located only 15 minutes from Traverse City, this campground offers visitors a plethora of activities. Whether guests are looking to relax or play, the Traverse City KOA has them covered. Activities include basketball and volleyball courts, a heated pool, horseshoe pits, mini-golf and a fun train.

      Site amenities available at this campground include RV and tent sites, deluxe sites, rustic sites, pull-through sites and back-in sites. Lodges and cabins also are available.

      The nearby area, including Traverse City, provides an exciting vacation destination with vineyards, orchards, a drive-in movie theater where all movies are rated PG-13 or lower, shopping, canoeing, horseback riding and golf.

    Coloma/St. Joseph KOA

    • The Coloma/St. Joseph KOA is located minutes from the beaches of Lake Michigan in the southwestern area of the state. Known as Michigan's "fruit country," this area provides a rich bounty of U-pick fruit farms, fruit markets and wineries. The area also offers antique shopping, lighthouses, St. Joseph's Curious Kid's Museum and area golf courses.

      The campground has both RV and tent sites as well as cabins. RV campers are offered 80-foot pull-through sites and 50-amp service. Activities and amenities within the campground include pavilions, a swimming pool, a hot tub, bicycle rentals and free fishing.

    Muskegon KOA

    • This western Michigan campground offers two private lakes and wooded and grassy areas. The area is home to several seasonal festivals for visitors to experience. Located within the area are golf courses, an amusement park and Lake Michigan's many activities.

      Sites include both RV and tent sites, some of which are lakefront. For RV campers, full hookup sites are available along with 30-amp service. Available for rent are banana bikes and non-motorized boats. There is also a jumping pillow, hay wagon rides, swimming, horseshoes, basketball and volleyball.
