Palo Duro Canyon State Park offers several options for campers, including 34 sites with water and 30-amp electric service and 47 sites with water and 50-amp electrical hookups. The park is open year-round and has a visitor center with a museum and a museum store. During your stay, you can enjoy a long list of recreational activities such as hiking, horseback riding, bird watching, nature study, mountain biking and scenic drives. You'll also find cabins, primitive campsites, primitive drive-up campsites and primitive equestrian campsites with water and pens for horses. A fee is charged to enter the park in addition to the campsite fee.

Located about 20 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon State Park, Pedernales Falls State Park offers 69 campsites with electric and water hook-ups. You'll find picnic areas, restrooms with and without showers and a trailer dump station. While at the park, which is open year-round, you can enjoy walking, hiking, biking and horseback riding on miles of trails; swimming, tubing, wading and fishing in the river; and bird watching in the bird viewing station. A hike-in primitive area and a youth group area are also available in the park. A standard park entrance fee is charged, as well as campsite fees.

Amarillo Ranch RV Park is located about 20 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon State Park and has 140 full-service sites with 50-amp electric service for both pull-throughs and back-ins. The fully-fenced park offers cable television, wireless Internet access and complimentary coffee and donuts. Facilities include restrooms with showers, a laundry facility, a gift shop, a clubhouse and a pavilion with barbecue grills. As a guest in the park, you can take a dip in the heated indoor pool or relax in the steam sauna or Jacuzzi spa.
