Incorporated in 1811, Huntsville, Alabama is a popular destination for tourists due to its attractions like the EarlyWorks Children's Museum, Huntsville Botanical Gardens, Sci-Quest Science Center and the State Black Archives Research Center & Museum at Alabama A&M University.     • The Ditto Landing Marina Campground is a public facility that features 26 paved campsites measuring 35 feet by 60 feet in size. Many of these spots feature partial or complete shade, and all come equipped with electric hookups. Although water and sewage connections are not available at the sites, restrooms, showers and a waste dump are provided by the campground for the convenience of its guests. Laundry facilities are also available. The Tennessee River flows past the campground and is a popular spot for freshwater fishing. The campground has a marina with a boating ramp and a dock for those who wish to voyage out onto the river. Horseshoe pits and a playground are also located on-site. There is a 14 day maximum stay at Ditto Landing.

    Monte Sano State Park

    • Monte Sano State Park, maintained by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, features 89 gravel recreational vehicle campsites. A number of these spots are laid out for pull-through parking, allowing drivers to avoid the hassle of backing their RVs into the lots. All of the sites are 30 feet wide and 50 to 65 feet in length. Twenty of the campsites offer full electric, water and sewage hookups with the remaining 69 equipped with only water and electricity. A sewage dump is located near the campsites. Other amenities include restrooms, two bathhouses with hot showers, a laundry facility and a public telephone. The park is located 1,600 feet above sea level and has 14 miles of hiking and biking trails that allow campers to enjoy the view. A picnic area and playground are located at the park as well. The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources enforces a 14-day maximum limit on all stays at the park.

    U.S. Space and Rocket Center Campground

    • In addition to its museum and space camp, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center offers 27 paved recreational vehicle campsites with full patios. Five of the spots feature a pull-through layout and measure 24 feet by 61 feet, while the remaining back-in spaces are 24 feet by 61 feet in size. Each site has water, electric and sewage hookups. Free wireless Internet is accessible throughout the campground. For guests' convenience, the campground offers showers, restrooms and a waste dump. Although the campground imposes no maximum length stays, advance reservations are generally required due to the campground's popularity.
