Apache Sitgreaves National Forest encompasses more than 2 milllion acres of mountain country in east-central Arizona. The Lakeside Campground is located on State Highway 260 approximately 10 minutes from Pinetop. At 6,950 feet above sea level, it is open May 1 through Sept. 31 and offers 82 sites capable of accommodating RVs up to 32 feet. It features tables with fire grills, drinking water, vault toilets and a dump station. Utility hookups are not available, and pets must be on a leash.
