Dog Friendly Hotels near Shenandoah National Park

Just 20 miles of Shenandoah National Park’s 500-mile network of trails are off-limits to dogs. The rest of the park is open to you and your pet. The park requires that visitors keep their dogs leashed while on the premises, and out of unattended, parked vehicles. Spend the night in the park in specially designated dog-friendly rooms or stay just outside the park at a hotel that welcomes canine traveling companions.
  1. Skyland Resort

    • The only dog-friendly rooms within Shenandoah National Park’s boundaries are at the top of the park’s Skyline Drive. Skyland Resort has a limited number of rooms designated for pets, so make reservations well in advance. The historic lodging site offers expansive views across the Blue Ridge Mountains. Guest rooms do not have in-room phones, but some have satellite television access. For entertainment, take a hike along the Appalachian Trail and other area trails. The Pollock Dining Room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, or order a boxed lunch to take along as you trek through the great outdoors.
