Things to Do Near Lake Cumberland

The Lake Cumberland area has a lot of places for families to visit and things for them to do. There is shopping area, activities that the whole family can participate in and even events like boat racing to attend. The area near Lake Cumberland boasts something for everyone from fisherman, to golf enthusiasts and kids who love some adventure regardless of where they are.

    • There are a lot of shopping areas that visitors can go to and enjoy. Rather than malls there are flea markets like the one in the Somerset area, where visitors can browse and walk through experiencing the friendly nature of the merchants and finding great deals that will keep you talking for years to come.

    Activities

    • The activities families will enjoy include is the Waterway Adventures/Burnside Marina located conveniently one mile from the Lost Lodge. Boats and rides can be rented here as they can be at the Conley Bottom Marina. The marina is 20 minutes from the Lost Lodge in Wayne County. One great water park kids will love is found at Somerset, KY and for the outdoor lovers the Sheltowee Trace Outfitters, is an outdoor adventure Park where the family can enjoy the adventures of nature.

    • For those on a budget the General Burnside Island State Park (Golf) is an island park located on 400 acres. Here golf and fishing enthusiasts can enjoy the landscape while relaxing in the gorgeous park. The Big South Fork Scenic Railway running through the Big South Fork National Recreation Area has a great family train ride that the whole family will enjoy. The Mill Springs Battlefield National Historic Site and Tour is perfect for civil war lovers. A U.S. landmark, the area flags the Battle of Mill Springs that took place in 1862.
