Lake Louise State Recreation Area is run by the Alaska State Parks. There are actually two separate camping areas within the recreation area itself. The first is called simply Lake Louise Campground and the second bears the name Army Point Campground. Spread over the two sites, the recreation area offers 58 camping sites, each with a fire pit and a picnic area. Within the 511-acre state park you'll find one covered picnic shelter, a boat launch, water and restroom areas. There is no electrical hookup and there is a limit of 15 days maximum that you can stay at the campground at one time. The campground is run by the Store, Inc. and this is the company to contact for reservations.
Activities in the recreation area include boating, fishing and hunting; however, the recreation area is also home to many different species of wildlife and birds, so is a favorite for bird-watchers and nature enthusiasts.

If you are looking for a few more amenities, the Tolsona Wilderness Campground is just a little over 30 miles away and only three-fourths of a mile off Glenn Highway. Tolsona offers a mini-museum featuring logging and sawmill artifacts from the 1920s. You'll also gain the benefit of free Wi-Fi, bathrooms and showers.

Mendeltna Creek Lodge is approximately 35 miles from Glennallen and about 18 miles from Lake Louise. Mendeltna offers full-service RV sites, or tent sites. There is a lodge with a dining room and a deck that overlooks Mendeltna Creek. Be sure to check out their free museum of the drunken forest.
The RV area offers full site hookups, dump station, laundry area and showers.
