Have an adventure in one of the 27 rustic campgrounds of the Superior National Forest, which is in northeastern Minnesota, bordering Lake Superior. Many campgrounds are within one to two hours of Lake Superior, with nearest towns of Ely, Orr, Tofte, Tower, Grand Marai, Hoyt Lakes and Finland. Varying in size from 10 to 62 campsites, the campgrounds are under local area ranger districts. Each campground is on or near a river or lake with parking aprons, tables, grills, water spigots and toilets. Most are open all year with services from spring through fall. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, boating and fishing while roughing it in the great outdoors.
