The Lodge of Whispering Pines Resort offers visitors secluded campsites overlooking Big Lake. All campsites have access to electric, water, a grill, a fire ring, a picnic table and the shower house. Whispering Pines campsites accommodate one tent or pop-up camper per site, no RV's. The resort also has 11 cabins and one lodge available for rent from June through September and rates vary by number of amenities such as: a fire place, complete kitchen, large screened porch, king and queen size beds, private decks, bath and shower.

Fall Lake Campground, located six miles east of Ely, has twice been named one of the Top 100 Family Campgrounds in the USA, once in 2003 and again in 2006. Located on Fall Lake within the BWCAW and near the Canadian border and the shores of Lake Superior, the campground is right in the heart of the great north woods. Guests will enjoy 65 tent sites with access to modern bathrooms, camp store, canoe rentals, boat ramp and drinking water. Fall Lake Campground has a picnic shelter with fire grates and a playground for children.

Bear Head Lake State Park is located on the southern border of the BWCAW so the terrain shares many of the same features. Attractions to Bear Head Lake include the fishing and canoeing opportunities along with a variety of lodging options: primitive tent sites, electric sites, full hookups (RVs no longer than 60 feet) and camper cabins year round. The State Park has access to hiking trails, showers and flush toilets May through September and a dump station from Memorial Day through September.
