Campgrounds Near Le Sueur, Minnesota

Le Sueur is a small farming community on the Minnesota River 50 miles south of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. Visitors will enjoy a variety of campgrounds in and around Le Sueur that provide convenient access to local attractions including the Le Sueur Museum, Mayo Park and River Park along with the annual Pioneer Power Show which features antique tractors and farming equipment.
  1. Peaceful Valley Campground

    • Peaceful Valley Campground is approximately one mile southwest of downtown Le Sueur in a rural area off Highway 169. The small campground has 35 campsites that include full and partial hookups. Guests have access to wireless Internet in the office as well as two playgrounds and a picnic pavilion. Le Sueur offers a handful of restaurants including the Welcome Inn Restaurant and Coachlight Inn Supper Club within two miles of the campground.

    Winjum's Shady Acres Resort

    • Winjum's Shady Acres Resort is 10 miles east of Le Sueur on Roberds Lake in Le Center. The resort is within three miles of the St. Thomas, Sheas Lake and Bardel State Wildlife Management Areas, which have wooded hiking trails. RV sites are available on or near the waterfront with full hookups and seasonal rates are available. Rental cabins are also available and come with one to three bedrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen. The resort has a variety of recreational amenities including a swimming beach, playground and fishing piers. An on-site restaurant with lake views serves American cuisine and has a full bar.

    Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area

    • Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area is 17 miles northeast of Le Sueur on the Minnesota River in Jordan. Guests will find this park to have wetlands, floodplain forest and oak Savannah all with wildlife viewing opportunities, walking trails and a multi-use trial that permits snowmobiles in the winter. Visitors will find 25 rustic drive-in campsites that will accommodate a full size RV as well as eight walk-in tent sites. Other amenities include a picnic pavilion and warming house in the winter.

    Sakatah Trail Campground

    • Sakatah Trail Campground is 18 miles south of Le Sueur on the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail in Madison Lake. The 37-mile multi-use trail permits horses, snowmobiling and hiking. It offers full hookup RV sites with access to modern restrooms and showers. The Trail Blazer Restaurant and Lounge is located on-site, and serves regional cuisine and has a full bar. There is a large parking area for snowmobile and boat trailers.
