Lake Wissota State Park, or LWSP, is on the eastern shores of Lake Wissota. This 1,062-acre forested park features paths for hiking and bicycling. Other recreational amenities include a playground, a beach and a boat launch for fishing activities. LWSP has shower facilities, a dump station and picnicking areas with tables and grills. The campground is open year-round and has 81 campsites. Seventeen of the sites have electric hook-ups.
The Eagle Ridge Campground is on the banks of the Chippewa River. The campground is in the city of Chippewa Falls and approximately 15 minutes from Lake Wissota. Eagle Ridge has 90 RV campsites, some with full hook-ups -- water, electric and sewer -- and others with only water and electric. Tent campsites are also available. Eagle Ridge is open from May through October and offers weekly and monthly rates. The campground has walking paths through its forested areas and along the river. Amenities include picnic tables, shower facilities and a playground. Eagle Ridge is 10 minutes from the Leinenkugel Brewery, where guests can take tours.
The O'Neill Creek Campground is within walking distance of Lake Wissota's northern shore and one of the largest campgrounds in the area. The campground has over 350 sites for RV and tent camping. Most of these sites have hook-ups for water, sewage and electricity. Pull-thru sites are also available. Recreational amenities include an 18-hole miniature golf course, two playgrounds, a beach on Lake Wissota and a hiking trail throughout the campground's property. Shower facilities, a dump station and a picnic pavilion are also available.
Elmer's Campground is on the eastern edge of Eau Claire, approximately 25 minutes from Lake Wissota. The campground is also less than 10 minutes from boating and fishing activities at Lake Altoona. Amenities include an storage units, shower facility and laundromat. Elmer's features 80 sites for RV parking and tent camping. Most sites have water, electric and sewage hook-ups. Pets may stay at the campground, but must be on a leash. Restaurants and shops in Eau Claire are within 10 minutes of the campground. Elmer's is 15 minutes from Chaos Water Park.
