Oak Bottom Campground offers simple amenities to campers. There are showers located in the Oak Bottom beach restrooms, which can be used for a fee. Other amenities include fire grates, which can be used for cooking and/or heat, and some restrooms. There are 100 tent sites within the Oak Bottom Campground, most located approximately 10 to 500 feet from the parking area. Some firewood is available, but campers should plan to bring extra. Prices to stay in the campground vary depending on whether you are staying near the lake or farther away. There is also a pet fee.

There are six primitive campgrounds and a total of 18 sites within Whiskeytown National Recreation area. The sites are first come, first served; they are located within a mile of the lake and are near creeks within the park. Permits to camp at these sites can be bought at the park's visitor center. These sites are generally closed in the winter, but are accessible by two-wheel drive vehicles during the summer. All sites come with a fire pit, picnic table and a bear-proof area. The largest vehicle that can be brought to these campsites is a pop-up trailer.

Brandy Creek RV Campground is open year-round and is on the southern shore of Whiskeytown Lake. Only RVs are allowed in the park. The RV park accepts the following types of RVs as long as they are not more than 35 feet long: regular RVs, cab-over computers, pop-up trailers and fifth wheels. There are 37 sites available within the campground. Pets are allowed within the park, but only on a leash. A swim beach is available for campers; pets are not allowed in this area.
