Inflatable Water Slides for Houseboats

Houseboat vacations lend themselves to extended periods of water play. Houseboats are frequently anchored in scenic locations while vacationers enjoy other smaller watercraft, fishing, hiking, water play or just relaxing. Houseboat rentals often include a fiberglass slide off the back of the houseboat. Inflatable water slides come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Used with care, they can be a lot of fun.
  1. Attached

    • Inflatable water slides are generally made to attach to large water trampolines or rafts. They often come in two general sizes: Large, which is 132 inches long by 36 inches wide by 36 inches high when inflated, or small, which is 84 inches long by 24 inches wide by 30 inches high when inflated. Both hold only one person at a time.

    Free Standing

    • A wide variety of houseboat-sized water toys is now available. These range from giant slide and raft combinations, to water totter or rockers, to inflatable icebergs. These inflatable slides and toys can be tied or anchored separate from the boat.

    Vacation Planning

    • Giant slides and toys are inflated with a foot or electric pump. They can be deflated for storage. Plan in advance where you will inflate your slide and how it will be carried to your vacation spot. Frequent inflation and deflation will shorten the life of your slide.

    Safety Considerations

    • Check your houseboat rental or insurance agreement for any specific language regarding slides or water toys. Always make sure an adult supervises any water play. Make sure the boat is stationary and the engine is off before swimming. Don't swim or play near the boat exhaust. The carbon monoxide fumes are extremely dangerous. Keep swimmers away from boat propellers.
