Dinner Theaters in Atlanta

Dinner theater productions can range from Shakespearean plays, to musical numbers, to mystery theater presentations, and sometimes include audience interaction depending on the genre performed. In Atlanta, the number of dinner theaters are few and far between. However, there are several that can still be found in the city for those who enjoy a little theatrical entertainment with their dinners and are seeking something outside of Atlanta's popular nightlife scene.
  1. Agatha's Dinner Theater

    • Agatha's has been a staple for dinner theater in Atlanta since 1988. This murder mystery dinner theater hub has an element of audience participation and features original comedy murder mystery plays. Since the theater has no actual stage, actors perform in the midst of the dining room between the five courses of the meal, which gives the audience even more of an opportunity to become engaged in the performance. Shows range from $60 to $63 a ticket depending on the night.

    Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern

    • For those who love Shakesperian plays, the Atlanta Shakespeare Tavern should not be missed. The tavern, which first opened in the summer of 1984, is the only Shakespeare tavern in the city. During the performance, the scene changes to that of one from the Elizabethan era. Actors perform in costumes from that time period and perform live music from the Elizabethan era as well, to add a bit of aunthenticity.

As dinner theater-goers dine on British pub-style food, like curried sweet potato soup, Shepherd's pie and cornish pastry, famous tales from William Shakespeare are brought to life. Ticket prices range from $15 to $32, depending on the seating area.

    Libby's Cabaret

    • Cabaret is a stylized form of entertainment that generally includes a semi-erotic spin on the song-and-dance numbers or comedy acts performed.

Started up by a cabaret singer named Libby Whittemore, Lilbby's Cabaret opened its doors in Atlanta in June 2000 and is still the only cabaret theater in the city to date. Reminiscent of a supper club from the heyday of the 1950s, this intimate dinner theater stays true to its cabaret roots and features a combo of live music, dance and humor. Tickets to the show are $30 without dinner, and start at $60 for guests who want to dine while they watch the performance.
