How to Travel to Varadero, Cuba

The Cuban Democracy Act of 1992 imposed a U.S. embargo on Cuba, making travel by American citizens to the island nation illegal. But every year, about 500,000 tourists from other parts of the world do visit Cuba. Varadero, or Playa Azul, blue beach in Spanish, is a resort town in northern Cuba. A Spanish port in the 1500s, it is known for its white sand beaches and elite hotels. Famous visitors include the American gangster Al Capone.
