Uptown Nightclub is a live music venue and dance club located on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland's entertainment district. Aside from the main room with stage and dance floor, there are two mezzanine lounges and a courtyard area. A long mahogany bar offers full service for drinks, including wine, cocktails and 12 beers on tap. Special events and shows include dance parties and DJ sets, burlesque shows as well as a variety of live music acts, ranging from rock and blues to electronic and alternative. Rock and punk acts usually headline; previous performances include The Dwarves, The Blasters, The Voodoo Glow Skulls and Frank Black of the Pixies.

Yoshi's is a restaurant, lounge and jazz club in Oakland's Jack London Square. The club has a sister location in San Francisco. The restaurant serves traditional and contemporary Japanese cuisine including tempura, sushi and sashimi; in addition to the standard dinner menu there is a prix fixe menu as well as a special late night menu that serves the bar, club and lounge areas after the restaurant closes. The jazz club seats 330 people and offers nightly shows; in addition to jazz performances, Yoshi's also hosts blues, soul, funk and world music acts.

Club Oasis is a dance club featuring tropical decor, live bands and DJs. The venue has a softly-lit wooden bar which opens onto an expansive outdoor patio with a lounge area, stage, DJ booth and dance floor. Music ranges from house and electronica to hip-hop and reggae. Wednesday is reggae night, featuring roots, dub and dance hall, Fridays feature live bands and Sundays host rotating themed parties. Kingman's Lucky Lounge is a hip bar and lounge with a sensual and chic decor and an upscale clientele. Leather couches, deep-red walls and ambient lighting create the feel for the lounge space while a full bar and dance floor complete the club. DJs spin downtempo, house, funk, R & B as well as hip-hop. Happy hour is from 5 to 8 p.m.; original cocktails include "upside-down pineapple cake" and "Chaise Lounge martini." Kingman's may be reserved for private parties.
