If you do not fly on the same airline each time you take a flight, you can end up with a lot of frequent flyer miles or points that are scattered about in several different frequent flyer programs. With frequent flier miles scattered in many accounts, it can be difficult to amass enough air miles or points to cash in for a reward flight or upgrade. Fortunately, there are ways to transfer some or many of those frequent flyer miles or points from one account to another.
Sign up for a free account with Points.com. With a Points.com account, you can transfer points between certain frequent flyer programs at no cost. Points.com does not have all airlines rewards programs available. Some of the partner airlines on the site include Air France, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta.
Look at some of your other rewards accounts, such at the Hilton hotel chain's HHonors hotel rewards program, to see if they offer a way to convert air miles. You may be able to take your air miles and convert them to the rewards program points. From there, you may be able to make a second conversion into another type of frequent flyer air mile.
Visit WebFlyer.com to use the mileage converter. This will let you select the program where you have frequent flyer miles and the program that you want to transfer the miles to. Then it will let you know the various ways that you can do so. Some transfer methods include the Diner's Club credit card and AmTrak rewards.
