If you need to add pages to you U.S. passport, make sure to plan ahead. It typically takes about four to six weeks to get the additional pages. If you need to get them faster than the typical processing time, you will have to pay an extra fee.
Verify that your U.S. passport is current. If your passport is not current, you must renew your passport.
Complete Form DS-4085. You can fill this form out online and then print it, or you can print the form first and fill it out by hand. Find the form on U.S. Department of State's website.
Verify the application is filled out correctly. Incomplete forms will not be processed. Mail your current U.S. Passport, Form DS-4085 and any fees to the address shown on the application form.
