How to Get a Passport ID

In 2008, the U.S. Department of State announced the release of a special passport ID card. Unlike a traditional passport, the passport ID card allows the bearer to travel by land or sea to Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean and Bermuda and return. Ideal for those who don't need the full U.S. passport but still have friends or family in these areas, the ID card is cheaper than the traditional passport, yet still has most of the security of it.
