Review your ticket or itinerary. Some travel agencies have a refund policy in which they offer a refund under certain circumstances even if you did not purchase travel insurance. Other agencies require that you have purchased travel insurance to receive a refund. Check your itinerary and any paperwork you have received to see if you qualify for a refund.
Contact your travel agent. Once you have determined that you qualify for a refund, contact your travel agent and explain that you need a refund. Be polite and explain why you qualify for a refund. If you do not have your travel documents or do not know if you qualify for a refund, call your travel agent and ask or request a refund.
Wait for your refund. Once the travel agent has determined that your ticket can be refunded, it may take several business days to receive the money back. You will usually have to give the travel agent your credit or debit card number again to have the money refunded back to your account.
