  1. Cherry Crest Adventure Farm

    • Located just eight miles or 17 minutes from Lancaster, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm in Ronks provides entertainment for the entire family. Open seasonally from May until November, the farm provides various events throughout its running season in addition to the corn maze, more than 50 farm activities, shopping areas and eating areas. The corn maze attraction offers 2 1/2 miles of twists and turns that guide you over five acres of corn. Structured around a different theme every year so no two years are alike, this maze provides entertainment for all ages. The farm activities include a petting farm, wagon rides, learning about different farm animals and small rides and slides. As of January 2011, admission is $14.95 for an adult (ages 12 and up), $12.95 for children (ages 3-11) and free for those under 2. Early season -- May and June -- provides a cheaper rate at $8.95 for those ages 3 and up.

    Choo Choo Barn - Traintown USA

    • The Choo Choo Barn in Strasburg, which is 10 miles or 20 minutes away from Lancaster, has been showcasing trains since the doors opened in 1945. The Choo Choo Barn is a 1700-square-foot building that offers various events throughout its running season of March through December and allows children and adults to view and play with model trains. Depending on the time of year, Thomas the Tank Engine will make a stop along his route to visit with children. Admission to the barn is $7 for those age 12 and older, $4 for those age 3 to 11 and free for those 2 and under.

    Dutch Wonderland

    • Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park in Lancaster features entertainment for all ages. Older children and adults will enjoy the many roller coasters to choose from, and the younger children can play and ride in the kiddie area. An on-site waterpark completes the amusement park and is available to all ages. Stroll the paths of this amusement park and you'll find any type of food you want along with shopping and sidewalk entertainment. For additional admission you can enjoy one of the various shows put on by performers. Dutch Wonderland is open year-round, and admission prices vary each year.

    Hands-On House

    • The Hands-On House offers a fun learning experience designed for children ages 2 to 10. Open year-round, this house allows children to use their imaginations for a hands-on experience exploring different areas of the "house." Children can dress up in make-believe costumes or discover how 3-D works at the rainbow exhibit. There are more than five different exhibits for children to discover and explore. Admission is $7 for all ages.
