Discovery Gateway is a children's museum in the Sandy area with a hands-on approach to learning. Exhibits include The Garden, with its 30-foot beehive; Kid's Eye View, offering a child-scaled experience of the broader world; Media Zone, a place where kids can experience working in news media; The Studio, an interactive space combining engineering, art and science; and The Terrace, where children can play pilot, commando or paramedic. The Discovery Gateway is also available for birthday parties and offers classes and other special events.

The Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy celebrates the world's diverse ecosystem of the seas. It boasts 1,250 animals representing 267 species. Exhibits at the aquarium include a shark tank, a sunken ship an d a tide pool where children can touch sea creatures. The aquarium offers a cafe on-site so you and your child can grab a snack together in the middle of your journey into the world of the deep blue sea.

If you're looking for a way for your child to blow off some steam, try Bouncin' Off the Walls, which has bouncing play areas. It's mostly for large groups and birthday parties, but on Wednesdays it offers open play separated into two types. Mom N Me runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for mothers and their children under the age of 5. Open Bounce is for parents (no more than two per child) and their children, running from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Both events are $5 per child as of 2010.

The Classic Fun Center at Sandy offers a variety of activities for children and their families. It includes a water park, a dime arcade, bouncing toys and laser tag. It is also available for birthday parties and includes themed rooms such as a game room, a child-operated DJ booth, a SpongeBob SquarePants room and a karaoke room.
