Fort Walton Beach is located on the upper panhandle of Florida, in between Panama City and Pensacola. People from all over, flock to the area for the pristine weather and picturesque beaches.   1. Arts and Design Society

    • Located on the west side of Fort Walton Beach and two blocks from the beach is the Arts and Design Society, a non-profit committed to introducing and raising the standard of art throughout the community. The society offers a variety of classes and workshops as well as a large gallery that is open to the public. The gallery features both amateur artists that are enrolled in classes in addition to featured local artists. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday and is free to the general public.

    Stage Crafters Community Theatre

    • The Stage Crafters Community Theatre is located on the north side of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Stage Crafters is a not-for-profit organization and has been the main theater company in Fort Walton for 38 years. Productions include Broadway and Off-Broadway shows as "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoats" and "Annie Get Your Gun" as well as less common works. The Stage Crafters offers a number of membership packages but ticket prices start at $15 for an adult.

    Air Force Armament Museum

    • The Air Force Armament Museum is located roughly five miles northwest of Fort Walton Beach, Florida at the Eglin Air Force Base. The Armament Museum offers visitors a look into past as far back as World War I to present day. It displays some of the deadliest bombs and the most important airplanes built by the United States Air Force. For example, it features the SR-71 Blackbird which was one of the fastest planes ever built and used during the Vietnam War. There are more than 25 aircrafts in all as well as a large display of guns, missiles and a film on the history of the base. It is open Monday through Saturday and is free to the general public.
