    • The Air Force Armament Museum is a free museum for anyone visiting the Fort Walton area. The museum has information about the history of the Air Force and exhibits that show the weapons used by the U.S. Air Force. The museum is on the Eglin Air Force Base, but anyone can get into the base as long as they have an ID available. Admission to the museum is free for all ages.

    Okaloosa Island Boardwalk

    • The Okaloosa Island Boardwalk is right on the beach and has a wide variety of attractions for anyone interested in walking on the boardwalk. There are public restrooms, showers, volleyball nets, restaurants, shopping, picnic areas and parking available. While shopping and restaurants are not free, the use of the beach, picnic areas, showers and restrooms are free and there is no charge for walking along the boardwalk, people watching and soaking up the beach atmosphere. Summertime events and entertainment are available, though the exact entertainment options change from year to year.
