See the charm. Take a ride down Walton Way or some other streets on the outskirts of Augusta, Georgia's second oldest city, to see historic, quaint homes. Some areas of town also might be enjoyable for a quiet walk and provide some picturesque views. For more history, check out the Augusta Canal, the Augusta Museum of History or one of the other museums in town.
Play golf. When you're at the home of the Masters, there's no better place to play a round of golf or learn more about the sport, whether you are an avid golfer or not. Check out some of Augusta's many golf courses or visit the home of the Masters, Augusta National Golf Course (see Resources below). Baseball fans should check out the Augusta Green Jackets, a class "A" affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, during its season.
Take a walk on the river. For locals and visitors alike, Riverwalk is the place to be when in Augusta. Depending on the time of year, see blooming flowers, enjoy the views of the river or participate in a seasonal event on the Savannah River. Known as a Garden City, Augusta also is home to several gardens.
Those looking for an eventful nightlife can find a crowded bar or a local or regional band play at many of the venues in downtown Augusta. Additionally, Augusta has hundreds of restaurants for any palate in most areas of the town.
