Restaurants in the Santa Barbara Marina

California's Santa Barbara harbor is a hot spot for sailing, shopping, water sports, fishing and festivals, among many other diversions. But, the marina also benefits from a host of dining destinations, many with stellar views of the Pacific Ocean's waves, along with the freshest in seaside-inspired fare.
  1. The Harbor Restaurant

    • Fresh seafood, steaks and slow-roasted prime rib, along with specialty cocktails and local and imported wines, get top billing on the dinner menu at this spot that also serves breakfast and lunch. Another option for diners is the ever-changing three-course tasting menu (appetizer, main entrée and dessert), by chef David Cecchini. Located on Santa Barbara's famous Stearns Wharf pier, The Harbor Restaurant has panoramic ocean vistas that provide a precise pairing for the fare.

Brophy Bros. Restaurant and Clam Bar

    • With views of the ocean and harbor visible everywhere, from the full-length bars to the window seats to the outside tables, this eatery turns out plenty of seafood favorites, served alongside crusty sourdough bread, for lunch and dinner. A Fresh Fish Menu changes daily and there's a separate menu in the downstairs bar area; an area that is also available for private party reservations. However, the restaurant does not accept general reservations. Established in 1986, Brophy Bros. boasts its numerous accolades received over the years, frequently ranking as a top seafood restaurant with the best clam chowder in Santa Barbara, according to independent and news press.

    Breakwater Restaurant

    • A casual atmosphere with prime waterfront views makes the Breakwater one of the harbor's highly rated spots for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The restaurant highlights its affordable, American-style menu that features popular specialties, such as the "Catch of the Day" fish dish, along with homemade New England clam chowder, coconut shrimp and fresh vegetable soups and salads. Patio dining is available.

    Santa Barbara Shellfish Co.

    • For more than 25 years, this restaurant on Stearns Wharf has been a well-known dining destination for fresh shellfish -- from dishes featuring various interpretations of crab, shrimp, clams, mussels and beyond. A beer and wine list complements the menu.

    Santa Barbara FisHouse

    • Open for lunch and dinner, and featuring daily happy hours, the restaurant offers oceanfront dining with available patio seating by an open fire pit. A multitude of fresh seafood plates takes precedence in the appetizer and lunch menus. Dinner offerings also skew heavy on the surf, with turf items also making an appearance -- from bone-in rib-eye to baby back ribs and Hawaiian chicken. To pair with each entrée, the FisHouse has specialty martinis, mojitos, margaritas and cosmopolitans, along with beer and wine options.

    Chuck's Waterfront Grill

    • Located on the Santa Barbara harbor, with a view of the sea and the boats docked just outside, Chuck's has been serving up a cool scene, alongside its steaks, seafood and cocktails for more than 41 years. The restaurant specializes in California- and Island-style entrées with dishes such as sesame-crusted halibut with lobster miso sauce, black and bleu filet mignon and grilled artichoke with chipotle-lime mayo. The upstairs Endless Summer bar and café has a separate signature menu plus two patios with plenty of party and entertaining space.
