The Sonnenberg Mansion and Garden offers a Midnight Stroll Music Series each Friday Night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in July and August. The gardens are decorated with lights, with live music ranging from classical, bluegrass and rockabilly. Children five and under are admitted for free.
The Canandaigua Wine Walk takes place towards the beginning of each month and is about four hours long. The Wine Walk features a sampling of various Finger Lake wines, and the opportunity to peruse local shops and businesses. Participating merchants, who range from apparel stores to day spas to specialty boutiques, house various winery samplings during the Wine Walk--the idea being for guests to stroll through town, sample wine, and shop. Though exact locations are subject to change, participating merchants are usually located along South Main Street. Commemorative wine glasses are $5, and a list of merchants is available on the Downtown Canandaigua website.
The Full Moon Harvest Feast and Guided Full Moon Hike takes place every October. Though technically this event takes place in Victor, a city that is about a 25-minute drive north of Canandaigua, this event is recommended by Canandaigua's Chamber of Commerce as a featured Canandaigua event. Victor and Canandaigua share a common past, both having been part of the same larger town in the 1700s. The guided hike portion of the event takes place on a trail called Monkey's Run, within a larger nature preserve. The harvest dinner, which takes place at the Springdale Farm Bed and Breakfast, features an award winning homemade chili, corn bread, cider and pumpkin pie. The Springdale, a 19th century farmhouse, is one of one of the oldest homesteads in the Finger Lakes region.
