Sharonville, Ohio, is an 11-square-mile town located 15 miles north of downtown Cincinnati, conveniently centered between Interstates 75, 71 and 275 in the greater Cincinnati area. This is a small-town suburb of a big city that provides off-beat shopping, a wide-array of dining options and no shortage of attractions for all ages and interests.
  1. Sharon Woods

    • Sharon Woods is a 730-acre park in Sharonville where guests can enjoy nature. Paved and natural trails are available for hiking, bicycling, running and skating. Visitors can rent a canoe or kayak and spend the day on the 35-acre lake that is located within the park. The Sharon Woods visitor center has an indoor play area, gift shop and educational nature exhibits. The park hours and days vary from season to season, but the park generally is open at 10 a.m. daily in warm weather and Tuesdays through Sundays from November to March.

    CoCo Key Water Resort

    • Modeled after Key West, Florida, CoCo Key is a 50,000-square-foot, indoor water-park resort located 2.1 miles from Sharonville. Water-park attractions include water-slides, tube rides, wading pools, whirlpools and a play area with water canons, lily pads, water basketball and a large bucket that dumps hundreds of gallons of water onto guests waiting below every few minutes. Dining options at CoCo Key vary from the kid-friendly A&W or Pizza Hut Express to Tradewinds Lounge and the Wet Rooster Bar that serve bar food, draft beer and tropical drinks. As of 2010, CoCo Key day passes are $25 for adults and children Friday through Sunday, and $15 Monday through Thursday.

    Heritage Village Museum

    • Guests of the Heritage Village Museum can take a step back in time to the 19th century. The dozen preserved buildings depict what life was like in Southwestern Ohio in the 1800s. Typical homes, buildings and equipment of the time period help visitors learn about 19th-century life. Visitors can watch and even take part in demonstrations on spinning, weaving, candle dipping, soap making, hearth cooking, carpentry work, herb lore, gardening, printing, trade and bartering and communication.

      The Heritage Museum is open Saturdays and Sundays in April, and Tuesday through Friday hours are added from May through September. As of 2010, admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 5 to 11. Children 4 and younger are free.
