  1. Smoky Mountain Winery

    • Open since 1981, this Gatlinburg winery produces wines that have received hundreds of various awards. The facility no longer offers tours, but visitors are invited to the tasting room to enjoy sampling over 20 wines. The winery is open 10 am to 7 pm Monday through Saturday, and 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday.

    Mysterious Mansion

    • For those wanting to be truly scared, here is a haunted house that will fulfill that desire. This attraction plays on our secret fears by using ghosts, gore, secret passages and a dungeon to spook visitors--who are encouraged to bring friends along for the experience. Rates are reasonable: $7 for adults, $5 for kids 7 to 12, and kids under 7 are free.

    Smoky Mountain National Park

    • This park cannot be beaten for scenic beauty and outdoor activities. Park admission is free; camping is available for a nominal fee. There are three visitor centers offering information and maps, and visitors can tour two historic grist mills within the park grounds. Ranger-led programs and exhibits are available throughout the year for educational opportunities. Outdoor activities include hiking, fishing, picnicking, horseback riding and biking; waterfalls and wildlife can be viewed from numerous spots, as well.

    Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Community

    • The historic eight-mile trail begins three miles from downtown Gatlinburg and conveniently loops back around. The area originated in 1937, and is now the largest group of independent crafters on the continent. Whether you buy or just browse, visitors can find clothing, baskets, pottery, jewelry, ceramics, and numerous heritage crafts from the over 100 artisans displaying their wares. Food and lodging are available if you wish to stay in the area. Each shop has its own address and parking; a map of shops can be downloaded from the website. Most shops are open from 10 am to 5 pm daily.
