Visitors can stroll the boardwalk on foot or rent a bicycle. Bike rental shops near the boardwalk offer single, double and carriage-style bikes. The permitted biking hours are 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. from Memorial Day through Labor Day; anytime from Oct. 1 through April 30, and 2 a.m. to noon on holidays and in early spring and fall. You can also fish off the boardwalk piers for bluefish, sea trout, kingfish and more.
The boardwalk in Ocean City has an entire pier dedicated to rides, arcades and carnival games. Rides range in excitement level from children's carousels to roller coasters. The boardwalk also features video arcades where you can exchange your winning tickets for prizes. Another source of entertainment on the boardwalk is Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, which features exhibits such as shrunken heads and two-headed animals.

Popular eating spots on the boardwalk include Candy Kitchen, Polish Water Ice, Fisher's Popcorn, Thrasher's Fries, The Dough Roller and Phillips By The Sea. Boardwalk eateries and restaurants range from quick serve storefronts to full service restaurants. Stores, including gift shops, jewelry stores and boutiques, line the entire length of the boardwalk.
