  1. Goodnight's Comedy Club

    • Goodnight's Comedy Club in downtown Raleigh has hosted such notable comedic names as Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres and Robin Williams. The club offers hilarious comedy routines with a choice of dining experiences.

      The comedy club is located on the street level of the building. For those looking to enjoy the comedy with their dinner, patrons can visit The Grille at Goodnights, which is situated one floor above the club. The Grille features a variety of dinner favorites like ravioli, prime rib, pork chops and fish entrees and also offers an extensive wine and champagne list. Those dining in the Grille receive VIP seating for the comedy club shows: the front two rows in front of the stage.

      For a less formal dinner and comedy night, patrons can dine in the Old Bar, located in the basement level of the building. The bar features traditional pub food, mixed drinks, music, flat-screen television and a dance floor to shake up your night. Those who dine in the Old Bar receive preferred seating in the comedy club: the third row in front of the stage and first and second rows to the side of the stage.

    Comedy Worx

    • For a different type of comedy, head to Comedy Worx on Peace Street for some hilarious improvisational work. Comedy Worx features three family-friendly show times throughout the week: Friday nights, Saturday evenings and Saturday nights. These shows feature two teams of improvisational comedians facing off against one another for audience approval.

      Comedy Worx also features two adults-only shows, on Friday and Saturday nights after the family shows. These shows involve more suggestive content and activities, so leave the kids at home. Comedy Worx features a cash bar that is open during all performances and also a concession stand where audience members can buy soda, nachos, popcorn and other snacking favorites. Those who reserve Comedy Worx for large groups (such as family get-togethers or work meetings) can arrange for catering to be provided for the group. Catering options include North Carolina barbeque, Mexican burritos and simple hoagies and chips. Groups can also hire outside caterers to deliver to Comedy Worx or choose to provide their own food, pot-luck style.

    Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club

    • Raleigh may feature a large number of evening events, but the city's suburbs also get involved. Just 16 miles outside of downtown Raleigh, the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club in Clayton provides great food and hilarious performers. The club features one show each on Thursdays and Sundays and two shows each on Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday is also open mic night, allowing patrons and amateurs to take the stage an try their hands at comedy.

      The club is open for lunch Monday through Friday, without comedy shows running; dinner is served during all comedy shows. One advantage that Laugh Out Loud has over many other clubs is that patrons dine at the same table from which they view the show; you can eat and drink before or during the show, as you choose. The menu features favorites such as pizzas, burgers and subs and also a number of soups, salads and grilled sandwiches. Patrons can also order beer and mixed drinks from the cash bar during lunch and dinner.
