The New Jersey Coastline spans over 127 miles. While the official count of private beaches has never been done, funnj.com lists the number at a "gazillion." That's a lot of beaches.
There are 63 listed public beaches up and down the Jersey Coast. Most beaches provide lifeguards, concession stands, restrooms, umbrella rentals and some recreational activities in season.
Public beaches A to D: Asbury Park, Avalon, Avon by the Sea, Barnaget, Barnaget Light, Beach Haven, Bay Head, Beach Haven Crest and Terrace, Belmar, Berkley Township, Bradley Beach, Brant Beach, Brick Township, Brigantine, Brighton Beach, Cape May, Cape May Point and Deal.
Public beaches H to N: Harvey Cedars, Highlands, Holgate, Island Heights, Keansburg, Lakewood, Lavalette, Long Beach, Long Brach Island, Long Branch, Longport, Loveladies, Lower Township, Manahawkin, Margate, Manasquan, North Beach, North Beach Haven and North Wildwood.
Public beaches O to W: Ocean City, Ocean Gate, Ocean Grove, Ortley Beach, Pehala Park, Pine Beach, Point Pleasant, Sandy Hook, Sea Bright, Sea Girt, Sea Isle City, Seaside Heights, Seaside Park, Ship Bottoms, Somers Point, Spray Beach, Stone Harbor, Spring Lake, Strathmere, Surf City, Toms River, Union Beach, Ventor, West Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest.
