Whether you want to learn Greek for leisure or business, you don't have to spend a lot of money on a specialized course or tutor. Using the Internet and local resources, you will find a variety of ways to learn Greek words and phrases for free. Most resources require an Internet connection to download the files to practice the language with. When learning the Greek language, take time every day to review the material and listen to the language.

  Download a free podcast from a website such as Greekpod 101, iTunes or Language Addicts. You can add these podcasts to your MP3 player of choice or listen from your computer. Choose the difficulty level based on how much of the language you want to learn. Listen while on the go or at home. Repeat the words as directed on the podcast.

  Visit websites such as Greek Phonetic Phrases, BBC Languages or I Learn Greek. The activities you encounter will vary from repeating words to doing crossword puzzles and matching activities. Complete them as instructed until you memorize the phrases and words.

These CDs and DVDs will vary in details, but often include a variety of activities designed to teach Greek in a short period of time.
