How to Tag Luggage

One way to inconvenience your vacation or other travel plans is finding out you made it to your destination before your luggage. It is unfortunate, but sometimes airlines lose luggage and travelers' only hope is that their bags are identified and delivered to them as soon as possible. One thing you can do to make the best out of this bad situation, even before you leave for the airport, is to ensure your luggage is correctly tagged.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase luggage tags for every piece of luggage you own. It's a good idea to get two tags for each bag that you'll be taking with you.

    • 2

Write your first and last name, home address, phone number and any other contact information you wish to provide (such as an e-mail address) on your luggage tags. The easier it is for airport authorities to reach you, the faster you will get your bags returned.

    • 3

Secure your luggage tags to your bags. The most reliable and secure luggage tags are the kind with a paper card that slides into a protective case on the back of suitcases. Paper tags provided by airlines are likely to fall off your bags en route and are only recommended when no other alternative is available.

Place note cards with your name, address and contact information inside your luggage for added security.
