Confirm you have actually obtained citizenship of another country before you renounce your Indian citizenship, as reversing the process will be costly and time consuming.
Find your most recent Indian passport and calculate how much you need to pay in fees. As of April 2011, Travisa Outsourcing charged every applicant a $12 service processing fee in addition to consular charges imposed by the Indian government through embassies and consulates. Individuals naturalized before June 1, 2010 must pay a total of $32, while people naturalized after May 31, 2010 must pay $187. Non-U.S. citizens must pay an extra $20 in both cases.
Determine whether you wish to submit the renunciation application in person or via post. Locate the nearest Travisa Outsourcing office to your home or business address by using the locator tool on the company's website.
Purchase a money order or cashier's check made payable to Travisa Outsourcing and send the payment with the passport to the nearest office. Alternatively, visit the office and hand the check and passport to agency staff.
Track your renunciation request online with the application identification number you were sent/handed after submitting your documentation.
Check your renunciation certificate for errors or damage and store it in a safe place along with the surrendered passport.
