Complete the passport renewal application, and compile all supplementary documents, including your current Dutch passport and proof of legal residence in the country in which you're applying. Those with dual citizenship must bring in their foreign passport. Provide paperwork if your marital status has changed.
Have one recent passport picture (not more than three months old) according to the Dutch passport photo requirements. Photos should not be taken in profile or with coin-operated cameras, nor are you permitted to wear sunglasses in the picture.
Schedule an appointment at a Dutch embassy or consulate, although walk-ins are also accepted at certain locations. When you do apply, you must do so in person at the embassy or consulate. Measures will be taken to confirm your identity, and your fingerprints must be taken. Bring all of your documents to the appointment.
