The head should be centered within the frame.The eye height should be between 28 mm and 35 mm from the bottom of the photograph. The background should be plain white. Eliminate any shadows on the face or background. Faulty lightening can obscure unique facial features. Brightness and color should be adjusted to represent you accurately. Take the picture with a natural expression and normal attire.
Print the photograph on thin photo-quality paper. The photograph should measure two by two inches. Make sure you make two copies. High-resolution photography and printing is encouraged.
Going to a professional passport photographer is another option. Locate the nearest professional passport photographer closest to you. Stores like CVS or FedEx offer passport photo services. Make sure you buy two copies.

Locate the nearest Passport Acceptance Facility
Bring documentation along with passport fee and two photographs with you to the facility. Do not staple the photographs to the forms.

If you are renewing your passport by mail, place the photos inside your old passport and mail them along with the rest of your application package to a passport processing center.
