Residents may apply to the Chandigarh regional passport office for a first-time passport for themselves or children under 18, a passport renewal, a replacement passport if the original is lost or stolen, or to have their passport reissued in cases of a change of name. Residents may also apply for a Police Clearance Certificate, deletion of ECR Stamp, inclusion of spouse's name on your passport and a change of address.
Applications can be submitted in person, or via a representative on your behalf. If a representative submits it for you, he must carry an authority letter signed by you and attested by an authorized representative.
The representative must also bring an identity document. A copy of the identity document should be attached to the authority letter.
The passport fee must be paid when you submit the application, either by bank draft or in cash.
Originals of all required documents must be shown at the time of submission. Attested copies of required documents should be attached to the application form. The documents required vary according to which type of application you are submitting.

In certain circumstances, you will be given a specific date where you may pick up your passport from the delivery counter at the passport office. Such "promised date" delivery is up to the discretion of the Passport Office.
