Fill out the visa application on the website of the Swiss Federal Office of Migration. Find the Russian page by clicking "Europe" under the "Representation" section, or see the link in Resources. Read the information on the types of visas available and decide which one applies, e.g., business, tourist, visitor, transit or student visa.
Attach one passport-style photo to your application. The photo must show an actual likeness of you; your face must not be covered by shadows, glasses or head coverings. It must be in focus, at the proper distance and without color or lens distortion. You must be looking directly at the lens. Download the "Photo Requirements" guide (see Resources) which shows examples of acceptable passport photos.
Schedule an appointment with the Swiss embassy in Moscow or the consulate in St. Petersburg to turn in your photo and application.
Submit payment through one of three Raiffeisen Bank's branches in Moscow. Present the invoice you received at the embassy and make the payment in rubles--though the price is charged in euros and subject to the daily exchange rate. Applicants who travel to the St. Petersburg's consulate pay the fee in cash.
