All applicants for non-immigrant visas must complete the DS-160 form online (available through the Casablanca consulate's website) in order to schedule an appointment. Parents must fill out individual forms for all children that will be traveling with them. Bring a print-out of the DS-160 completion letter to the visa appointment.
After completing the DS-160, business and tourist visa applicants can apply for a visa appointment online. Visa appointments take place at the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca between 7:30 and 10am Monday to Thursday, excluding holidays. Save the password that the appointment scheduler gives you so that you can change the time or date of the appointment if you need to. Not all applicants need to schedule a visa appointment; check on the consulate website for a list of exemptions. All applicants must pay a non-refundable visa fee of $131 (as of 2010) at any branch of the Banque Marocaine pour le Commerce et l'Industrie before their appointment and bring a receipt of payment to the appointment.
The U.S. Consulate adheres by strict security rules that you should be aware of on the day of your appointment. Only applicants with an appointment (and with the correct identification and scheduling letter to prove it) are allowed in, unless the applicant can prove that they are applying for a visa that does not require an appointment. Applicants cannot show up any earlier than a half hour before the appointment is scheduled. Applicants may only bring documents necessary to the appointment inside the consulate; no backpacks, large bags or liquids of any kind are allowed.
On the day of your visa appointment, show up no more than a half hour early with your Moroccan passport (must be valid throughout your planned stay in the U.S.), visa fee receipt and appointment confirmation letter with barcode and a picture (if the picture is not clear, bring a recent passport-sized photo). Be prepared to spend up to three hours at the consulate waiting, being interviewed and finger-printed. During the interview, you will be asked about your travel plans and your ties to Morocco, so bring supporting documents (letters of invitation, plane ticket, reservations, for travel plans and bank statements, proof of property ownership, school enrollment, business ties and ownership, for proving ties to Morocco--minors may use their parents' proof of ties). The consulate processes approved visas the day of the appointment, but advises applicants to be prepared for delays.
