The investor visa allows you to immigrate to Canada with a residency permit because of the amount of money that you are willing to invest in the country. Many people from all over the world take advantage of the Immigrant Investor Program.
In order to come to Canada on an investor visa you must make an investment with the Canadian government of at least C$400,000. This amount is kept for at least five years, and is used by Canadian provinces to create jobs and grow the economy. After five years the money will be returned to you unless you used it as collateral on a loan. There are different returns in that case.
Candidates must have a net worth of at least C$800,000. This money must be acquired legally; a verification process will confirm that you have these funds.
You must also have at least two years of business experience acquired within the last five years before the application is processed. Business experience includes two years of management, two years of business control or one year of management and one year of control. The business worked for must be a qualifying business.
All immigrants must undergo a criminal and medical clearance. Once clearance is received and the application process is completed then you will be able to immigrate to Canada. The criminal and medical checks apply to accompanying children and spouses in addition to the applicant.
