How to Clean a Briggs & Riley Bag

Briggs & Riley have been manufacturing luggage, laptop bags and brief cases since 1993. Briggs & Riley bags come in leather or ballistic nylon. Ballistic nylon is a tough synthetic nylon material that is as durable as leather, but less expensive. The leather and ballistic nylon materials are both low maintenance. Briggs & Riley offer a "no questions asked" repair policy, so if your bag becomes damaged, Briggs & Riley will repair it.

Instructions

  1. Cleaning a Leather Bag

    • 1

Pretreat any stains on the leather by wiping then with a soft cloth dampened with water.

    • 2

Select a leather conditioner. Avoid conditioners that contain heavy oil or animal fat, as they may leave a greasy residue.

    • 3

Apply the leather conditioner to the corner of a soft cloth and wipe down the bag. Work in small areas and work the conditioner into the leather.

    • 4

Wipe the bag with a dry, clean soft cloth to remove whatever conditioner that remains on the bag.

    Cleaning a Ballistic Nylon Bag

    • 5

Roll an adhesive lint brush over the bag to remove lint and loose dirt particles.

    • 6

Run a soft cloth under water and wring out the excess.

    • 7

Pour a very small amount of mild dishwashing liquid onto the cloth and rub it onto the nylon material.

    • 8

Wipe the bag with another moist cloth to rinse away the soap.

    • 9

Dry the bag with a clean cloth.
