The Newberry Oktoberfest is an annual event that takes place October 1 to October 3. This three-day event includes a "Fall Festival" parade, a "Woman's Nail Pounding" contest and various logging contests, door prizes and performances. Fun is provided for the whole family. Tickets for admission are required for certain portions of the festival and can be purchased at the Newberry Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Four Flags Area Apple Festival takes place in Niles, Michigan, at the corner of Lake and 17th Streets. This four-day festival includes carnival rides, parades, food vendors, arts and crafts, and lots of free entertainment. There are numerous contests with cash prizes in which you can take part. These contests include a lip sync contest, a golf tournament and an apple-pie-eating contest. Tickets are required to enter the fair grounds on all four days of the festival.

The Zeeland Pumpkinfest is an annual family-friendly festival in downtown Zeeland, Michigan. This not-for-profit festival is supported by contributions from local businesses, individuals and the government. Admission to many parts of the festival costs little or nothing. The festival offers something that will appeal to every member of the family--young and old. Highlights of this festival include costume and pet contests, a parade, scarecrow displays and plenty of food. The festival takes place September 30 to October 2.
