File form I-129F. This form is for the K-1 fiance visa. It requires a great deal of information about the U.S. citizen as well as the Brazilian fiance. The U.S. citizen will have to complete an affidavit of support, too, proving financial capability of caring for the fiance in the United States. The last three years of tax returns, a letter of employment, bank statements and more are required.
Include proof of the relationship. With the I-129F it is important to provide proof of the relationship and the more the better. This means photos of the two of you together in Brazil, plane tickets, phone bills and anything else that might prove your relationship. You will also want to write a letter of how you met each other and fell in love. Both letters must be written in English.
Submit the package. Once you have compiled all this information you need to submit the package to the processing center for your state. Once the I-129F has been approved it will be sent to the Visa Processing Center. From there, the entire package will be sent to the consulate or embassy in Brazil.
Make an appointment for the interview. The interview is the scariest part of the process because it will result in the approval or denial of the K-1 visa. The appointment must be made and the fee paid. The applicant must show up on time and have all of the information presented in the original package. This means copies are really important in case something was lost along the way. During the interview it is important to be honest and upfront and hope for the best. If the relationship can easily be proven then the K-1 visa is not that difficult to obtain.
