Visit the American Airlines website or call their toll-free hotline at
1-800-433-7300. Have your airline tickets handy as you will need your reservation or flight numbers.
On the American Airlines website, click the 'Flight Status' tab. If you are using the American Airlines hotline, say 'Flight and gate information' when asked how the attendant can help you. You will be prompted to enter or say your flight number which can be found on your plane ticket. If you cannot locate this number, you can enter or say your departure city and destination city as well as the date of travel to find your flight.
Locate your flight. Once you select your flight, you will be provided with your terminal and gate number as well as the type of airplane you will be flying on. Since specific plane numbers are sometimes not finalized until the last minute, you will need to contact your airport to find this information. You will be notified of the specific plane number upon checking in at the airport.
