List your departure airport and other airports you will be traveling to during your visit so you can find out whether they have first-class suites that can be accessed using your American Express card.
Call American Express toll-free. The number is on the reverse of your American Express card. Tell the operator what airports you are visiting and ask for the names of first-class suites that can be accessed using your American Express card. Make clear notes of the suite names. For example, in Canada, some first-class suites are managed by Servisair and Plaza Premium, while in the U.S. they may be managed by one of the airlines such as Delta or American Airlines.
Ask the operator what type of American Express cards are accepted to access the first-class suites listed. The American Express Platinum card offers airport suite access as standard. Other types of American Express cards may allow access but a subscription may be required. You often get first-class suite access if you have held an American Express card for some time or use your card substantially. If you need to subscribe, ask how to sign up. It's possible it can be completed during your call and payment debited to your American Express card.
Check-in at the airport and go through security as most first-class suites are located in the airport terminals. Look for the signs listing names of first-class suites and then follow the directions to find your particular first-class suite.
Show your American Express card, flight ticket and boarding card to the first-class suite check-in assistant. Your details will be verified and access granted.
