The application will require you to input information such as citizenship, passport, family, itinerary, education and work history information. Also, when you submit the visa application, you will also be required to supply a money order to pay for the visa processing fee, which is nonrefundable.

    • Due to tighter restrictions put in place by the People's Republic of China, you may be requested to come to the Embassy for a personal interview with an immigration officer. Also, although multiple entry visas have been granted in the past, most of the visas that the Embassy of China approves are single-entry visas that are meant to be used within a specified 90-day period.

If they wish to work, study, or live in Hong Kong for any period of time, all American citizens must apply for the appropriate visa. If you are not an American citizen, check with the Hong Kong Department of Immigration to see if you will be allowed to enter the Hong Kong without a visa, or what the appropriate visa is that you will need file before your departure.

    Macao

    • Citizens of fifty-three countries (including the United States and Canada) are eligible to enter Macao for a purpose of tourism without a visa. Once again, if you wish to work or study in Macao, then you must apply for the appropriate visa before you leave your country of residence.
