Instructions

    • 1

Make a guest list and send out purple invitations. You can find purple invites at many stationary stores or you can go all out and make your own out of construction or printer paper.

    • 2

Ask your guests to come dressed in something purple. Have a prize for the person wearing the most purple or wearing the most shades of purple.

    • 3

Decorate your party space with purple streamers, paper lanterns, balloons and more. Try to get decorations in several shades of purple to give the look some variety.

    • 4

Serve purple refreshments. Set out bowls of purple fruit snacks, hard candies and serve grape fruit drinks. A drop or two of red and blue food coloring into a white cake mix and white frosting makes a great purple-tinted birthday cake. Don't forget purple candles.

    • 5

Give your guests a couple of strands of purple Mardi Gras beads when they arrive. Later you may want to play a game where you choose several words and "outlaw" them for the evening. The first player to catch someone else saying one of the "outlawed" words gets to steal one of the other person's beads. Have a prize ready at the end of the party for the person with the most strands of beads.
